The new trend is 'do whatever makes you famous' and this has brought about lots of 'somewhat' senseless moves and sometimes rather stupid and irresponsible acts to get talked about..
We've seen stories of girls who say they love fashion but refuse to put on clothes! we have also heard of 'celebrities' trying to outdo each other by purchasing really irrelevant and rather expensive toys, outfits and gadgets simply for the sole purpose of 'trending'.
Well, it has gotten easier with the social media where pictures, videos and random posts of the 'latest popular gist' show up with new social platforms coming up hungry for followers. Blogs and entertainment sites fuel some of these 'gists' by captivating headlines and the occasional gossip. Different contests have also being invented to 'celebrate' individuals who 'sell' in entertainment.
so here comes my view....
in my opinion, there should be a balance between trying to be/remain relevant and being just plain stupid and extravagant. There's a word called 'discipline' and another called 'standards'; they can be referred to as attributes that we should all have. it helps.
